Lola Jimoh
The four words that describe Lola Jimoh, are ambitious, confident, sexy, and smart. Currently she has been appearing on Law & Order, Spike TV, Comedy Central and All My Children. She has a scene with Chris Rock in his last film "I Think I Love My Wife". She is also featured in the first online music video for a ringtone, Mary J. Bilge’s "Why You Ducking Me" and Lumidee and Tony Sunshine’s "She’s Like the Wind". This Year alone she’s done commercials for Virgin Mobile and Sony, print Campaigns for Makari skincare and Avalon hair products, as well as the Seul Contre Tous Calendar, where she’s featured as the month of Sept, proving how much the camera loves this Bronx Born Beauty.
Being an interesting mix of German, Italian, and Black blood from her mother and Nigerian blood from her dad, is just one of the things that makes her unique.
Lola started her career doing beauty pageants at the ripe age of 15, "Everyone around me would say…. You have a gift…to hold people’s attention, not only by your words but also through your actions."
By 16, Lola began dancing on "DFX" on MTV. “With the successes of appearing not only on MTV, but also on the "Ananda Lewis Show", "Good Morning America" and "The View", she gained popularity in her field. By the time she was 17 she had won the state pageant, appeared on MTV in a VJ competition and was one of the main models booked to do runway shows at the Apollo Theater.
At 19, she accomplished one of her dreams by gracing the pages of Essence, after being discovered by the editor of the magazine Susan Taylor. This occurred while Lola was working as a celebrity makeup artist at Bergdorf Goodman. Taylor said “You have beautiful skin would you like to be in my magazine?” Lola accepted and has been modeling ever since. While doing makeup and modeling she attended college full time doing a double major in Theatre and Mass Communications and a minor in Black Studies. All the while, Lola was living it up in her Mid-Town Manhattan studio Apartment. With her B.A. in Theater and Mass Communications , she has learned not only what happens on the stage and in front of the camera, but also what goes on behind the scenes. By the time she was 22 she had her own radio show, that she hosted and produced “The Breeze Team Showcase” and appeared on WBLI to host and produce a show based on hip hop love songs of the past and present. She also hosted a music video show “The Bomb Video Show” where she was blessed to interview a variety of artist, like hip hop Grammy winner Rhyme Fest and Grammy song Writer Johnta Austin.
Now, she is starring in the first Off-Broadway, all female sketch comedy show in New York "FINE FUNNY & FEMALE" and a new film directed by Melvin James entitled "Still A Teen". As well as a 3 picture movie deal with a famous Hollywood Director George Kalu. She completed writing 3 pilots for Television and a script for a film. "I love being creative…I just want to share all the things I love doing with the world…I love to entertain and inspire people. It’s my way of paying it forward."
